Documenting The Process
We’ll continue documenting any relevant updates here. We will also start an email list. Right now, there might already be efforts afoot to upgrade our filters that we don’t know about. Hopefully that is the case and we’ll go from there.

We didn’t know much, but we knew these filtration solutions exist, so we started calling around. We first tried reaching out to a couple of Board members for the Dept of Water in Paducah, and we also called the Water Department directly, asking for advice on how we might proceed to try and raise funds for a filtration system.

We decided to create this website to document the process of possibly getting funds for these industrial water filters that remove PFAS

Paducah Water returned our call to them and we helpful with some basic info. A representative there said that PW is in fact looking into filters that would retrofit onto our current system (vs replacing the whole system). We asked for more specifics and we were given a phone number with which to follow up for more specifics.
We also asked about a timeline and where the money might come from but were not able to get definitive info on that.
In summary, it sounds like Paducah Water is actively working on a solution, which is really good news.
We plan to look into the technology and timeline. We asked if there was anything the citizens could do to help but they did not know at this time if or how we might help but they thanked us for reaching out we thanked them for communicating with us.
